Week of November 25: Bundle up and get out there...fishing has been great!

It was a beautiful weekend at Sebastian Inlet and anglers have been sending in pics of their catch left and right, so bundle up and get out there.  Anglers have been bringing in Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, Black Drum, Permit and Sheepshead, and the action has been hot really throughout the inlet system with a lot of boats bottom fishing for Flounder just West of the bridge.  There have still been some Snooks and Reds, but fewer and further between as we head into winter.

For Spanish Mackerel, use your Gotcha lures or small bucktail.  For Pompano, Black Drum and Sheepshead, shrimp, sandfleas and clams will be your best bet.  For Flounder, use finger mullet if you can find it or try live shrimp.  Sarah at Sebastian Inlet Bait & Tackle has also seen a few Bluefish here and there too, and she’ll get you set up with everything you need.  Plus give you the latest and greatest on the action.

A shout out to our featured angler of the week, Sally Baughman, who brought in a few nice-looking Black Drum fishing off the North Jetty last Thursday.  Way to go Sally and thanks for sending in your pics!

If you want to be featured in the weekly fishing report as our angler of the week, send us the details of your fishing trip to the inlet and photos.  You can use the Contact Form on this site to submit and send us both horizontal and vertical photos with the angler centered with his or her catch.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving holiday!
