We asked you to help clean the north side of Sebastian Inlet. Your response was deafening! As a rule, when we host quarterly coastal cleanup events with Coastal Connections, Inc., at Sebastian Inlet State Park, anywhere from two to a dozen or so volunteers show up to participate. Yesterday (August 4) was a different story. More than 40 people of all ages retrieved approximately 92 pounds of dirty diapers, discarded cans and bottles, assorted plastics and other litter in one hour. The chairman of our Board, David Barney, even found the tip of a medical marijuana joint among the hundreds of cigarette butts discarded on the ground. Today didn't feel like a cleanup event; it felt like a movement! Thank you so much for making the day brighter!
