Volunteers remove 34 pounds of litter from the Sebastian Inlet tide pool
These stunningly beautiful people help keep our beaches clean! Read more below:
Hot and humid is the daily forecast, but that didn't prevent about a dozen volunteers from removing approximately 34 pounds of trash this morning (June 23) from the tide pool beach at Sebastian Inlet State Park. They removed the usual cigarette butts, monofilament and bottle caps, but the microplastics were everywhere, particularly in the sargassum washed up on the shoreline. Thanks to the volunteers, our friends at the state park and of course, Coastal Connections, Inc., for another successful quarterly cleanup event. We hope to see more of you in September! Also, you don't have to wait for the next cleanup. Check out the Beach Basket program: https://www.sitd.us/the-beach-basket-program
