Important Notice: Prescribed Burn at Sebastian Inlet State Park
Sebastian Inlet State Park officials have notified us of a prescribed burn scheduled for Wednesday, January 9, 2019. The North Jetty and fishing pier, as well as the far north parking lot and all bathhouses on the Brevard County side of the park will be CLOSED from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Prescribed fires are used to restore ecotones to their natural conditions, provide natural habitat to endangered plant and animal species, and to reduce fuel loads in case of wild fires. These types of events are managed through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and staff biologists.
