Beach cleanup nets more than 27 pounds of trash
A pair of dolphins caught breakfast while volunteers cleaned the beach.
December 30, 2025 - Only a few hardy souls participated in today's quarterly cleanup event at Sebastian Inlet, but they collectively removed more than 27 pounds of trash from the north side of the state park. Among the usual cigarette butts and soda cans were two toy dinosaurs, a pair of discarded water shoes and a metal shell of a Hot Wheels car (a Chrysler PT Cruiser, for the record). We were fortunate to see a pair of dolphins catching breakfast in the tide pool. Yay! Thanks to the volunteers and our partners at Coastal Connections, Inc., and Sebastian Inlet State Park Staff.
