Week of June 2: The bite is slow but anglers are still reeling some in..

Sorry for the unexpected hiatus last week, we had web update issues!  So Sarah at Sebastian Inlet Bait & Tackle tells us the fishing has been a bit slow, but you’re going to have to think outside of the Snook box…get it, outside of the Snook box!?

Fishing for Snapper has picked up, primarily offshore, but a few have been around biting on shrimp.  Go to the catwalk to reel in some Lookdowns on little feather jigs in and around the pilings.  We’ve seen a few Blue Runners, Jacks and couple Bonita today on the beach.  Redfish are still biting on the outgoing tide on bucktail lures and shrimp.

A huge shout out to our angler of the week, Sebastian Inlet regular and fish whisperer – Allan Noel.  This featured picture is of his buddy Maiky, an avid Bass fisherman and originally from Thailand.  Alan got him on his first Snook, a 33″ beast caught on live shrimp off the North Jetty at the end of May.  Thanks for sending in your pics, Allan!

Calling for your submissions!  We need photos and stories to include in upcoming fishing reports.  If you want to be featured with your catch, send in a picture and the details of your fishing trip to the inlet by using the Contact Form on our website.  Pictures work best horizontal and if you center the person with their catch, leaving room on the sides. We try to publish every one we receive.
