Week of February 4: Redfish, Black Drum, Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel out there!

A very special thanks to everyone sending in photos for our weekly Fishing Report.  We love hearing your stories of fishing the inlet!

We have seen some massive Redfish and Black Drum come over the rails in recent weeks off the North Jetty, and our friend Tommy at Sebastian Inlet Bait & Tackle is seeing Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel, doing well on live and cut bait.  Flair jigs are working great for the oversized Reds during the day and at night, use them for Snook.  Spoons are also working well for mainly Blues and Reds.  Best live bait options are shrimp and sandfleas.

Thought we’d switch things up this week and feature some of the offshore action people have been sending in..  Check out our featured angler of the week Nick, with this prize 32-inch Red Snapper.  Bill, Nick, Matt and yes, another angler named Nick were offshore a few weeks ago and “it was non-stop fishing all day”.  Keepers included 15 Lane Snappers, a Bluefish and a Sea Bass.  We’re glad to know that you guys practiced proper catch and release for the others you caught either being out of season or undersize, include a Grey Grouper, 11 Red Snappers, a Flounder, a Shark and a Triggerfish.

Have fun out there!
