Week of April 8: Glorious Fishing Weather…get out there!

Been seeing a lot of Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish and Jacks on the outgoing tide and off the North Jetty.  Got-cha lures, silver spoons and bucktails have been doing the trick.  Sarah at Sebastian Inlet Bait & Tackle reports the Pompano are biting too on sandfleas, clams and frozen shrimp, and she’s been seeing some Snook on the tide change too.  We’ve been hearing other reports of Sheepshead and Flounder biting to the West of the bridge in the channel.  Stop in and see Sarah or Tommy for bait and any gear you need….she’ll be sure to give you the latest report!

Our angler of the week  is a local and comes from Barefoot Bay.  Congratulations Carol Smith for bringing in this nice looking 17-inch Pompano off the North Jetty two weeks ago!  Your husband John was so proud of you he sent in your photo and details for the fishing report.

You can send in your pics and details of your fishing trip to the inlet by using the Contact Form on our website.  Pics work best horizontal and if you center the person with their catch.

The humidity and dew point sensors are fixed and feeding accurate, live data to our webcam.  Thanks for your patience as we fixed the equipment.  Current temp is 77 degrees with winds out of the South at 9 knots.  NOAA’s marine forecast for the week is calling for South winds, up to 15 knots through Wednesday.  West winds Wednesday, East and Southeast on Thursday and Friday with winds peaking at 10 knots later in the week.  Be safe and have fun out there!
