Week of April 29: The Bite Has Been a Bit Slow…

Sarah at Sebastian Inlet Bait & Tackle reports that the bite has been a bit slow in the last few days.  Spanish Mackerel and Jacks can be found on the outside of the North Jetty, a few decent Blues too.  Use your Got-cha lures and spoons to bring them in and over the rail.  She has seen a few Redfish and Snook on tide change, biting best on minnows and shrimp.  Wish we had better news for you anglers, but that’s the story.

Head out earlier in the week to avoid slight chance rain showers on Wednesday and Thursday morning, and thunderstorms that are expected to crop up during the day Friday.  NOAA is calling for East winds all week, between 10-15 knots except on Wednesday where winds could reach up to 20 knots.   Temperatures starting in the 70s every day, and heating up to 80s mid-day.

Things never seem to be slow for this fisherman and regular!  Check out our angler of the week Allan Noel showing off the magnificent Redfish he caught off the North Jetty a few weeks ago.  “Conditions were rough, but I managed to land a few fish including this nice Red.”  We love featuring regulars and we love featuring people who have a soft spot for Sebastian Inlet and the North Jetty.

Calling for your submissions.  We need photos and stories to include in upcoming fishing reports.  If you want to be featured with your catch, send in a picture and the details of your fishing trip to the inlet by using the Contact Form on our website.  Pictures work best horizontal and if you center the person with their catch, leaving room on the sides. We try to publish every one we receive to highlight what a great place Sebastian Inlet is..!
