We have a windy morning at the inlet, it’s blowing out of the East-Northeast at 16 mph, gusting to 23 and there is a moderate chop on the water. Tonight’s Super Blue Blood Moon is creating extreme tides. NOAA has a small craft advisory in effect through this evening. Always check the NOAA forecast prior to boating.
We have very few anglers out fishing in the rough conditions this morning so there isn’t a lot to report today. Waves are crashing over the north jetty and it’s pretty wet out there. If you are game, there are some species that like the rough conditions, Reds in particular. Throw on some rain gear and go for it and let us know if you are successful.
Our photo of the day features one of our favorite snow birds, Rich Blum. Rich is back for the winter and was out on the north jetty several days last week. Rich reported an overall slower bite but Black Drum became active on the incoming tide. A few slot Reds and some decent sized Sheepshead rounded out the catches for last Wednesday. Rich is pictured at the cleaning table with a slot Red and nice Sheepshead. Way to go Rich!
