Paying homage to First Peak, the history of surfing at Sebastian inlet and the greats! Go check out the grand opening of a new exhibit at the Florida Surf Museum – Sebastian Inlet, the accidental wave – this Saturday, October 20 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Ron Jon’s Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach. The event is open to the public, free of charge, with live music, beverages and food. It’s sure to be fun!
Florida Today writes, “it could be argued that First Peak has produced more east coast professional surfers than any other break in mainland America. 11-time world champ Kelly Slater honed his skills” at Sebastian Inlet.
Guests will have a chance to enter a raffle to win a replica of the twin fin retro style boards Matt Kechele rode back in 1981 at one of the first international pro events held at the Inlet, the “Stubbies Pro”. For more information, visit: www.floridasurfmuseum.org.
